Congratulations to the following who have been selected for scholarships to attend the Australian Mountain Bike Summit:

  • Dave Willlcox - Margaret River Off Road Cycling Association - Mrorca
  • Dave Marshall - Albany Mountain Bike Club
  • John Wallace - Collie Mtb Club
  • Shane Williams - Kalamunda Mountain Bike Collective

The standard of applicants was very high. Any of those who applied would have been worthy recipients. However we had to choose four. This selection was made by a panel comprising representatives from WAMBA, WestCycle, Department of Sport and Recreation and Department of Parks and Wildlife. Factors considered included previous volunteer contribution (paid work not considered), future benefit to clubs/regions represented and a geographical spread of representatives.

WAMBA would like to thank Steve Bennett of DSR who made this grant possible.

We look forward to hearing all about this exciting summit from those attending.

The Department of Parks and Wildlife are conducting a survey to help them plan for John Forrest National Park's future recreational needs. if you ride in the park or would like to see more mountain bike trails there, please take 5 minutes to fill out this survey.
